General Services

• Guitar Diagnostic & Spec Folder

  • $35.00
    Free with 1st time repair service of $125.00 or more (acoustic & electric). Highly recommended as a starting point for every newly acquired guitar whether it be new or used. This is a before/after spec sheet plotting every adjustable aspect of your guitar with measurements to the 1/1000 of an inch. Have it updated whenever you have work done. Notes include diagnosis of physical problem areas, recommendations, where to start, etc. This is very helpful in educating the musician as to just what their needs really are based upon their personal playing style & in communicating those needs to the technician for future adjustments to action in a clear & precise manner. EVERY FACTORY MADE GUITAR NEEDS ADJUSTMENT – EVEN A NEW ONE OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY!

Acoustic Guitar Services

• New Nut

  • Bone - $75.00 / Compensated - $110.00
    (May or may not include raw material) If your guitar has worn frets, a bowed neck, or an ill fitting saddle, expect additional cost to correct these problems. Many repairmen will not install a new nut if other problems are not also addressed. (12 string - add $25.00)

• New Saddle

  • $75.00
    (May or may not include raw material) Same qualifications as with "new nut".

• Re-Glue Bridge

  • $100.00
    Remove and refit old bridge. Very minor touchup included. (12 string bridge- add $25.00) .

• Replace Bridge

  • $100.00
    + cost of factory made bridge (approx. $30.00) an occasional cost of a new saddle. (12 string bridge - add $25.00)

• Handmade Bridge

  • $250.00+
    (price varies by quote) Handmade bridges may be necessary for vintage Gibson, Martin, Guild, and custom bridge replacements.

• Replace Tuners

  • $50.00+
    (price varies by parts). Although it appears a simple job, it can be filled with subtle complications

• Fret Leveling

  • $100.00+
    Worn or uneven frets can he filed level in many cases, if there will remain enough height on the fret to suit the customer. Frets must be lowered to the height of the lowest pit that can be found. Sometimes, replacing the most worn frets is appropriate. Includes "set up" adjustments. Add $25.00 for finished maple fretboards.

• Re-Fret

  • $250.00+
    Add $50 for fretboards with binding. Add $50.00 for finished maple fretboards. Individual frets $15.00 plus leveling and/or set up costs. New nut or saddle may be necessary. Shop minimum may also apply.(Add $25.00 for 12 String)

• Neck Re-Set

  • $300.00+
    Remove neck. Re-cut heel/body angle to correct high action. Replace neck. New nut & saddle extra. Additional fret work and bridge work may also be necessary.(Add $25.00 for 12 string)

• Crack Repair

  • $25.00/inch
    Also priced by quote (particularly for shattered areas). Includes glue and brush touchup with appropriate finish. Cleating (installing small patches of wood inside guitar to reinforce repair) as necessary. Repairs often not invisible.

• Headstock Crack

  • $150.00+
    Priced by quote. Glue, seal and re-finish area. Repairs often not invisible, but finish should be smooth.

• "Under-Saddle" Pickup Install

  • $75.00-$100.00
    (Plus parts) Expand endpin hole to accommodate jack. Wire pickup to pre-amp and jack. Fit and re-size old saddle for proper action and contact with pickup. May require new saddle and re-rout of saddle slot (additional cost). There are other variables relating to pre-amps which must be individually quoted. Condition of bridge and neck angle may be factors in the appropriateness of an under the saddle pickup.

• Electrical Problem Diagnosis

  • Shop Minimum
    Diagnosis of any electrical problems.

• Humidify Guitar

  • Shop Minimum
    Particularly during the dry times of year, instruments may need to be humidified before repairs and adjustments can be made.

Electric Guitar Services

• Set Up

  • $75.00
    + Strings. Includes Neck adjust, action adjustment at nut and saddle (does not include making of new nut if necessary), minor fret work, tighten tuner screws and nuts, lubricate tuning machines, general clean up, restring. Floating tremolo, Floyd Rose style may cause higher rates.

• New Nut

  • Bone: $75.00 / Compensated: $110.00

• Rout New Pocket

• Replace Switch

• Copper Shielding

  • $100.00-$175.00
    (plus materials) service not available for some guitars – price determined depending upon prior assessment and level of shielding desired. Copper shielding of electrical cavity and pups can drastically lower (often eliminate completely) the amount of disturbing 60 cycle hum prevalent in most electric guitars. The results are not the same for every guitar, however, I’ve not done this yet in a guitar that hasn’t benefitted. There’s nothing like a guitar that is completely silent when it’s supposed to be.
